Lodge Farm Canine Hydrotherapy Centre has been operating for six years and has now expanded offering further rehabilitation in the form of Low Level Laser Therapy to provide a safe and effective way to improve healing (Further information on LLLT can be viewed on the laser page)
The hydrotherapy pool itself is a fully filtered 4 ft deep heated pool 26 – 30 degrees which has two adjustable antiswim power jets which can be varied from a gentle current to rapid white water, this allows the dog to swim against the current thus providing a weightless exercise.
The duration of the swim depends solely upon the fitness and capabilities of each dog, specific veterinary recommendation and the observations of our trained staff.
The water content is tested three times daily, results of which are recorded for analysis. The water is tested for levels of chlorine, ph, alkalinity, calcium and hardness and is adjusted as necessary. The water temperature is monitored throughout the day.
The Centre provides a welcoming relaxed environment with refreshments on request. Laundered towels shower and drying facilities are provided as it is important for dogs to leave the centre as dry as possible.
